CREDIT SYSTEM

North Texas Baptist Seminary operates on a semester system.

The unit for counting credit is the semester hour.


COURSE COMPLETION DATE

Students working towards their degree by correspondence are allowed to complete at his/her own rate of progress. No pressure will be applied to finish at a particular speed, time, or date.


GRADING SYSTEM

GRADE MEANING POINT SCALE POINT VALUE

A Excellent 95-100 - 4

B Good 85-94 - 3

C Average 75-84 - 2

D Below Average 70-74 - 1

F Failure 69 and below* - 0


*NOTE: No Point Value is awarded for a grade below 69


REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

An earned degree from North Texas Baptist Seminary requires a minimum of thirty (30) hours of course work for any transferred student and every student must have a GPA of 2.00.


GRADUATION HONORS

All credit hours with a passing grade are awarded points based on the level achieved. Honors are determined by the student’s cumulative grade point average earned at North Texas Baptist Seminary. The student must meet the following GPA standards to receive the honors listed below.

3.95 - 4.00 Summa Cum Laude

3.75 - 3.94 Magna Cum Laude

3.50 - 3.74 Cum Laude
